I am a Big Supporter of FSF [Free Software Foundation] & Open Source, I use & reccomend moving to a Linux system as soon as you can for as much as you can [ I am aware of the realities sometimes you'll need Windows].
If you have any suggestions the you know the drill.

- TTCS OSSWIN CD. this is a CD Compilation of some of the best Open Source Software available.
There are many, way to many to list here, so I'll Just link to my Favourites
Installers.
These are a recent entry, they give you the ability [providing you are connected to the internet] to choose, download & install a selection of software, mainly Open Source but sometimes freeware or free commercial versions [eg. iTunes].
- All My Apps this site asks you to register, & it's worth it, especially if you use Linux as well. It keeps a list of all your currently installed Applications & keeps every thing updated & running smoothly.
- Ninite a once off installer, choose your software, download the tiny installer file & run it, Bingo you have a PC set up with all you need.
